The Americans have their Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Almost every major trading nation in the world have a National Quality Award framework. Malaysia has our own Prime Minister Quality Award (PM Industry Excellence Award).

What is telling is that most countries have recognized that business or performance excellence frameworks allow faster sharing of best practices to advance national competitive advantage.
